Creative task Number 1. Using the visual picture prompt plan and write a story based on the above image. You will need to name the girls and cat in the picture and it is up to you to decide who they are to each other e.g. relative, sibling, friend, peer, new acquaintance, where they are going, why they are travelling there or if they are lost, fleeing or escaping someone or something or embarking on a quest to discover something or to find someone.
Creative Task Number 2. What is behind the secret door? Plan and write a story based on this image about what lies beyond this door. Is there a secret world, a person, a mythical creature, a treasure, a discovery or something else entirely hidden behind the door? Ignite your creative fire and write a thought provoking, highly imaginative tale about what happens when you or a character you have invented opens that intriguing looking door. Remember to build suspense and tension into your writing. There are some tips on how to do this effectively on our website page about English and Creative Writing workshops.
Creative Task Number 2. Plan and write about who lives here. Describe what the home is like within the interior and the exterior and what the creature, person or people are like who reside here. Explain what they do every day and what their job or purpose is for living here. Where is this habitat located e.g. within our familiar world or another mystical/fantasy world or a parallel universe? Perhaps it is home to a lonely teacher, lawyer or doctor or to a family, inventor, wizard or a unique creature or individual that you have created yourself. Maybe it is an orphanage or a home for the elderly; perhaps it is home to someone famous who is working on a very special job or assignment or performing an important task or role within their world such as guarding a person or a secret.
